Meet your Coaches

Image of Co-founder and fitness trainer.
I have a passion for nutrition and fitness, caused by my history of poor health before ever beginning fitness: brain fog, painful back, stomach pain, and degenerating joints. At 13 years old, I was told I would need a hip replacement at 25 and another at 55. I'm now 28 and have less joint pain than I had in my elementary school years and the brain fog is gone. Every year, so far, I feel younger, more flexible, and experience more mental clarity. Currently, I have benched over 450 lb, held handstands, one-arm pullups, a running 36" vertical jump, and I have sprinted over 21 MPH on a curved treadmill! No one starts at the top. I will help you get you where you deserve to be.

Natalia Zamora
I grew up being extremely active and playing different sports until I fell in love with tennis, soon becoming a National Tennis Champion in Mexico. As a college undergraduate in the USA, I played D1 NCAA tennis and was Freshman Female Athlete of the Year. My interest in nutrition started in my teenage years when I realized that I was running out of fuel during my tennis matches. I began to research nutrition and realized how important it was for both sport performance and overall health. While getting my degree, I graduated as the Outstanding Dietetics Graduate of my class. Currently, I have 12+ years of clinical experience working in hospitals and long-term care facilities. Let’s work together to build a strong, sustainable foundation for your health and performance — one that supports not just where you are, but where you want to be.

What Makes Us Different

While you may have come across a lot of nutritionists, health and wellness “experts”, or other forms of nutrition coaches, if they don’t use the term “Dietitian”, their nutritional background is questionable. As Registered Dietitians, we are required to attain a master’s degree, then directly practice within the field of sports nutrition, clinical care, and community backgrounds for a minimum of 1,200 internship hours under the supervision of other dietitians. Lastly, we must pass a national examination that only has a 65% initial pass rate. Only then are we allowed to label ourselves as registered dietitians. The standards to become a dietitian are high. In most states, the term “nutritionist” is unmonitored, meaning that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist.

Here are some of the nutrition topics we will guide you through!

Macro Overview and Nutrition Label
An introductory overview of the components that make up calories which determine if we gain or lose weight. Learn an overview of why they are important and the sources. Have you been told to read the nutrition label, but you have no idea what it means? We will turn that confusion into knowledge.
Protein Guide
Learn about the macronutrient protein, the building block of muscle. Learn practical tips to optimize your protein intake, foods with high protein, and learn how to identify common foods that are often mistaken to be high protein.
Energy Balance
Gaining or losing weight, at its core, is simple. You must be in a calorie surplus or calorie deficit. However, there are hundreds of small factors that affect this equation.
Carbohydrate Guide
Are you worried about your blood sugar? Do you run out of energy during exercise? Are you constantly experiencing low blood sugar? This guide will help you better understand carbohydrates to be able to address these issues.
Fat Guide
Fat is one of the most misunderstood macronutrients. Gaining weight is caused by excess fat, thus fat is bad, right? Well, it's more complicated than that. Learn about why fat is essential to have in the diet, sources of fats, and how to utilize your fat intake to boost the effect of other nutrients!
Hydration Guide
Have you been told to drink eight glasses a day as a recommendation? Learn why this isn't true and what you should actually be drinking. Learn about unexpected sources of hydration, how to optimize your hydration, and strategies to stop waking up in the middle of the night due to poor hydration timing.
Vitamins Guide
There are many vitamins. Learn why they are important and food sources and how much you should have. Enjoy fun facts about each of them! At the end, we go over why a multivitamin will not complete your nutrition.
Minerals Guide
There are many minerals. Learn why they are important, food sources and how much you should have. Enjoy more fun facts for each of them! At the end, we go over why a mineral supplement will not complete your nutrition.
Exercise Benefits
Nutrition alone will improve your health, but it's important to truly understand the benefits of other habits. Perhaps you have been told that exercise is beneficial. Perhaps you even know some specifics, such as it's good for the heart. Did you know exercise has benefits for over 25 chronic diseases? This handout goes into the details, simplifying it, while all being backed by science.
Meal Prepping
At this point in the course, you will have a good understanding of nutrition. One next step is to consider making some of your own food. Cooking takes a long time. No one, not even us dietitians, have time to cook food before each meal. The best solution is to meal prep for the week. This guide goes over strategies on how to save time, add variety, and learn about the basics of food safety. Meal Prepping is so much more than sticking to chicken, broccoli, and rice. If we can't sustain that diet for a week, you shouldn't be expected to either.
Alcohol Guide
This is a sensitive topic for many. We drink alcohol for a variety of reasons: increase our ability to socialize, decrease our perceived stress levels, help us fall asleep, and have fun. Learn why these are only short term improvements and how long term, alcohol worsens each of these. If you have no intention of quitting alcohol, that's your right. This guide finishes off by covering tips to minimize the negative health consequences of alcohol!
Final Week
Together, in this final stage of the course, we will examine what you have learned, celebrate the meaningful adjustments you have enacted to advance your nutrition and health outcomes, and clarify any persistent questions. Our shared goal is to cultivate your self-assurance in nutritional matters, ensuring that your future selections of healthy, sustainable meals reflect sound judgment, free from the necessity of ongoing guidance.
